Seeing our digital work integrated into the beautiful landscape of lower austria is truly amazing and adds an extra layer of perception. We were especially inspired and held a residency program with workshops, studied for our research and performed with colleagues and friends, leading to a symphony of diverse disciplines and media art installations.

  • The Symposion Lindabrunn was founded in 1967 as a stone sculptors' symposium and has since been run as a place of artistic debate and an open development space for contemporary art. Embedded in the wonderful landscape of Lower Austria, containing the already existing impressive stone sculptures, we were invited to create a performance as well as curate an AR exhibition on site. Seeing our digital AR-work integrated into the beautiful analog landscape of Lindabrunn is truly amazing and brings an extra layer of perception.

Experiencing digital art in an open, public landscape has a very special quality, it is literally an augmented experience that involves all the senses: temperature, smell, the sounds of the surrounding creatures and the shared view between the art world in the Artificial Museum and a nature environment, interwoven with physical stimuli.

  • The key element was the live performance [ Reterritolized Spaces ] of SystemKollektiv which dealt with live data of movement and its visual transformation into an AR experience - another big leap for our research program. The performing artist Litto used her self-developed scanning technique (volumetric video generation), combined with a mirror and an AI depth generation tool. In collaboration with musician Manuel Cyrill Bachinger they performed a live set at the opening, where movement and echo sound were synchronized at Lindabrunns stone quarry.

One of the highlights was the presentation of Leonhard Müllner of Total Refusal, a pseudo-marxist media guerilla focused on the artistic intervention and appropriation of mainstream video games. Leonhard gave us an insight into their work and elucidated on the topic of reclaiming public space in video games.

  • Additionally, we have held an artist in residence program at Lindabrunn for Madi Piller, curator of PIXFilm Collective in Canada, Hideo Snes, AI expert at ARM among other things, and Manuel Cyrill, musician and long-time supporter of ARM as well as for Ferdinand Doblhammer with his DJ Set.

Also, Victoria Coeln installed her light art into the space of the old stone pit, which gave us the opportunity to share the customized technique with the other participants. This led to a symphony of showcasing diverse disciplines.
