Baroque statues revisited, an interesting break in style between baroque and modern.
By humanising the suffering and agony of marine animals the issue of plastic waste in the ocean is underlined. The images are set in such a way so that the suffering, the fear and the pain are felt by the viewer. If the audience wastes a thought on how to make the world a better place then the goal of the art piece is achieved.
The Art piece Death and Rebirth represents and describes the pushback of Nature, where modern cities thrive. Now, because of global warming, we desperately try to bring down temperatures in densely populated areas by planting trees in different places. The burst open Asphalt signalizes the growth of nature reclaiming space. The lanterns hanging from the tree's branches show a reference to chinese lampions, which are a sign of death (white) and rebirth (red). The old tree itself has no leaves but still looks alive and is another form of symbolism for death and life.
A change in perspective could help.
My work Portrayal of Danae from Greek Mythology is a manifestation and depiction of the female body through female perception, using my own body to confront Danae’s experience, instead of the male gaze and interpretation that we experience throughout the portrayals of female bodies in art history.
Clouds are an essential part of the Earth's climate. Instead of the usual fluffy white appearance, the sick_cloud looks rather dull and polluted. In this display technique the volumetric shape is sliced into planes and the texture is transferred to the plane at the respective position.
