[ Opposition ]
context meets opposites
Date
26. June 2022
Partner
University of Applied Arts Vienna, FH St. Pölten
Location
Ring Vienna, AT
In collaboration with the University of Applied Arts Vienna and FH St. Pölten, we invited students to realize an exhibition. Each of the young artists freely chose their approach and established an individual concept, showing new ways of thinking and getting creative and constructive feedback for further developments of the Artificial Museum.

The exhibition was shown as part of the Angewandte Festival 2021. The University of Applied Arts in Vienna (Angewandte) is a university for fine and media arts, architecture and other applied arts such as graphic design, industrial design and fashion design. The predecessor institution, the Imperial and Royal School of Arts and Crafts, was founded in 1867 in the center of Vienna, the capital of the Danube Monarchy. Even after the end of the monarchy, the school was a guarantor of artistic quality and maintained its high standards. Today, its reputation as an internationally outstanding art university that has constantly reinvented itself precedes it.
The exhibition [Opposition] Context Meets Opposites, which I realized in 2021 in cooperation with the SystemKollektiv, was my first collaboration with ARM. It was so convincing that I carried out two more projects with ARM over the next two years.

Gerda Lampalzer works at the interface between media theory and artistic practice, teaches at various universities and is involved in numerous international presentations and exhibitions. Her commitment and her work have already received several awards. Therefore, we gladly took the opportunity to work with her students at Angewandte, showing new ways of thinking and getting creative and constructive feedback for further developments of the Artificial Museum. Also, the exchange and collaboration with Professor Gerda Lampalzer, Professor Thomas Wagensommerer and Professor Markus Wintersberger were an honor and gain for us.
