Quartier Belvedere, 1040 Vienna

Lichtgebilde 07

The grid, a symbol of societal structures, represents orientation but also security, inclusion, and exclusion. How can human dignity be respected and protected as a fundamental right? This question arises particularly here in the newly constructed Belvedere Quarter near the main train station, in a location named after an aid program: The name "Am Schweizer Garten" (At the Swiss Garden) is intended to commemorate the aid shipments from Switzerland after the First World War. These shipments restored dignity to many residents of the starving city of Vienna.
