Lichtgebilde #2303

The light graphic: "JIN JIYAN AZADÎ"

So that the rain can touch my hair

So that my individual strands of hair can fly freely in the wind

So that I can express my opinion freely

So that I can speak in my own language

So that I can sing my songs with my voice

So that I can love what I want to love and how I want to love

Woman Life Freedom – JIN JIYAN AZADÎ.

(Sakina Teyna)

Sakina Teyna is committed to women's and human rights in her artistic activities. With her music, she wants to make the richness of different cultures and languages tangible. Multilingualism is very important to her. She consciously sings on stage not only in Kurdish, but also in Turkish, Armenian, Farsi, or Arabic.

The text graphic originates from a slogan for the empowerment of women in the Kurdish independence movement. The death of the 23-year-old Kurdish woman Jina Mahsa Amini on 16.9.2022 in police custody in Tehran sparked worldwide protests.
