Burger Session

  • Lucas Yannic Lühr

A burger like no other: colourful, oversized and completely inedible. burgersession is all about gastrointestinal disorders. The burger motif was originally painted on canvas for Lucas Yannic Lühr’s first solo exhibition ‘Over.Lapping’ at the headquarters of the Artificial Museum in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier. During a hack session the motif was transferred to a 3D object thus becoming an independent artifact.

This AR work transforms fast food into a dazzling spectacle – somewhere between a snack bar and a pop art explosion. Anyone who takes a bite here is confronted with their own consumerist desires. Anchored in virtual space, the burger reflects the transition from everyday object to art form and becomes a metaphor for oversaturation, longing and the playful reinterpretation of cultural symbols.
