Guerilla Open Access Manifesto

  • Aaron Swartz

„Information is power“ introduces the Guerilla Open Access Manifesto, written by programmer Aaron Swartz in 2008, in which the hacktivist is pleading for free access to information. As a wonder child, he mesmerized with his elegant coding, and as an activist, he was a leading figure of creating the Open Access movement, having a foresight for a collective, better future for every human. The Schubert Theater is dedicating him an installation for the 10. anniversary of his death, being a puppet head, built by the artist Annemarie Arzberger.

The Schubert Theater in vienna is one of the most innovative off-theatres in austria, and since many years dedicated to puppet theatre for grown-ups. Especially with biographic works, the use of puppets can allow for a realm between the art and the audience to exist, on which a very honest and intense representation of a person, a biography, is possible.
